WP Suspension’s latest APEX PRO system won’t be used on the 2026 KTM 1390 Super Duke RR Track only because WP’s system will also become an aftermarket upgrade to the KTM 1390 Super Duke RR and KTM 1390 Super Duke R. In other words, there is no need to switch to the limited-run track bike to access a higher level of suspension tuning. In that case, riders who considered acquiring the 1390 Super Duke R, will have another good reason to choose this particular machine.

As stated above, WP’s latest APEX PRO forks implement the Closed Cartridge design principle common to the company’s race forks. The technology was designed specifically to enhance rider feedback while pushing bike’s limits, making braking later and maintaining faster cornering possible. When dealing with such powerful and highly-strained bikes as KTM 1390 Super Duke RR or KTM 1390 Super Duke R, riding fast corners becomes especially demanding on a bike’s performance. That is why an improved cartridge system becomes critical for achieving best results.
Another feature of the fork is the Tecterra inner tube coating. WP claims that its surface protection is twice as hard as regular chrome plating. It should be resistant to damage from abrasives such as dust and sand. This should improve wear resistance as well as damping effectiveness.

The corresponding APEX PRO shock absorber on the back wheel was designed specifically to ensure better acceleration after turning and stability while braking. In addition, it will allow you to install a potentiometer, which means that telemetry can be used to tune the suspension. According to WP, this suspension has high and low-speed damping, rebound adjustment, hydraulic spring preload, and length adjustment; there are several different spring rate options as well as the ability to quickly change springs. All this will give the rider plenty of room for experimentation, which means that users of the 1390 Super Duke RR and R will be able to bring their motorcycle closer to track characteristics.
