The special editions of the R15 and R3 motorcycles have been launched by Yamaha to celebrate the company’s 70th anniversary. Both special edition motorcycles will make their presence felt in the Brazilian markets. The special edition of the R15 will be manufactured only in limited numbers i.e. 1200 units while the R3 special edition motorcycle would be available only in 600 units. Yamaha R15 and R3 70th Anniversary editions boast some aesthetic changes in their design and are priced at BRL 24,090 (Around Rs 4.69 lakh) and BRL 37,790 (Around Rs 7.36 lakh).

Both the Yamaha R15 and R3 special editions have been designed in a dual colour theme which includes both white and red tones. As far as the Japanese company is concerned, it shifted from its iconic blue colour theme during the last decade of the 90s while white and red had been the factory racing colours for Yamaha until then. Yamaha R15 and R3 70th Anniversary edition motorcycles sport the iconic colour combination used by Yamaha during the period of 60s on its GP bikes.
In addition to the unique colour combination, Speed Block Graphics have also been added to the special edition of the Yamaha R15
Red colour scheme, excluding Speed Block graphics, can also be observed on the fuel tank as well as windscreen. Like any limited edition model, R15 and R3 motorcycles are also decorated with 70th anniversary badge located on the fuel tank. There is no change in either motorcycle in terms of their features. They are still equipped with sculpted fuel tank, low-mounted handlebars, large-sized windscreen, split seats and upturned exhaust.
While the R15 70th Anniversary edition is known for its front suspension with black paint job, Yamaha R3 is known for its USD front fork that comes in gold paint job. Some of the common features that both motorcycles share include deltabox frame, ABS with dual-channel function, assist and slipper clutch, USB Type-A port and rear monoshock suspension.

The key element is that the Yamaha R3 comes with a 321 cc parallel-twin four-stroke petrol engine capable of producing maximum power of 40.7 bhp and maximum torque of 29.4 Nm. On the other hand, the Yamaha R15 has a 155 cc single cylinder four-stroke liquid-cooled engine fitted with VVA technology. It produces a maximum power of 18.5 bhp and maximum torque of 14.7 Nm.
