The automaker launched the new-gen Duster in India way back in March, and prices start from INR 10.49 lakh (ex-showroom). There are two powertrain choices available for the SUV at present, and the third variant with petrol hybrid technology will be available sometime near the festive season.

Recently, we drove the Renault Duster variant equipped with 1.3-litre turbo-petrol engine mated to a six-speed manual transmission and conducted the fuel efficiency test. It churns out 160bhp along with 280Nm, and the same comes with a choice of six-speed DCT transmission as well. Besides the 1.3-liter petrol engine, it can also be had in combination with 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine that delivers 99bhp and 166Nm, and comes only with a six-speed manual transmission.
In city driving conditions, the 2026 Renault Duster managed to return mileage of 9.58kmpl while recording 18.53kmpl on highways. On the other hand, MID showed a mileage of 11.1kmpl and 19.2kmpl on city and highways, and the latter figures were not far from real-world numbers. Thus, the fuel efficiency achieved by this particular Duster was 11.81kmpl compared to the official claims of 17.75kmpl, and its weight stands at 1,380kgs.

The fuel economy test that we conduct on all automobiles will consist of procedures that have been standardized. Some of these include conducting the process with default settings; whether it be the air conditioning setting and vent setting or drive mode settings, among others. In this particular instance, the air conditioning temperature setting ranged from 22 to 23 degrees while the blower speed was set at four. Furthermore, the seat vent setting was set at three.
