- Available across two variants in 4×2 and 4×4 configurations
The company JSW MG Motor India has launched the new Majestor in India with a starting price tag of Rs. 40.99 lakh. This car is the successor to Gloster, and competes with Fortuner from Toyota, VW Tayron R-Line, Jeep Meridian, and Skoda Kodiaq. There are four colour variants available in two wheel-drive and four-wheel drive versions of the Majestor.

When it comes to the visual presence, the Majestor is definitely a winner compared to the model it replaces. This is because it features a big front grille, split headlamps that have LEDs on board, as well as several blacked out elements on the body that make it look more athletic and strong. It is a very large vehicle that is 5 meters long and has a wheelbase of 2,950 mm, which makes it the largest SUV in its segment.
The Majestor is undoubtedly one of the vehicles that are the most feature-rich on the market, provided that the price tag is below 50 lakh rupees. This includes a number of impressive features like dual 12.3 inches displays for the infotainment system and digital dashboard, a panoramic roof, ambient lighting with 64 colors to choose from, tri-zone climate control, two wireless chargers, and a JBL 12-speaker surround sound system.

Behind the bonnet, the Majestor is fitted with the traditional 2.0-litre twin turbo diesel engine that has been known to produce a power output of 213 bhp and torque of 478.5 Nm, mated to a new eight-speed automatic transmission. There hasn’t been any change in the mechanics, but things get interesting in terms of additional hardware. The Majestor is equipped with three differential locks along with various off-roading modes.
| Variants | Old Prices (MG Gloster) | New Prices (MG Majestor) | Price Difference |
| Savvy 4×2 AT (6 & 7-seater) | Rs. 39.80 lakh | Rs. 40.99 lakh | + Rs. 1.19 lakh |
| Savvy 4×4 AT (7-seater only) | Rs. 42.49 lakh | Rs. 44.99 lakh | + Rs. 2.5 lakh |

Both these models come within Rs. 50 lakhs easily, thus making the Majestor very competitive given its comprehensive nature especially compared to other competitors in the market such as the Toyota Fortuner, who charge almost similar amounts yet lack the same level of specifications. A cheaper model from Sharp is also due to be unveiled in the coming future.
