The Czech brand Skoda has introduced its most budget-friendly electric SUV, the Epiq. As a stepping stone into Skoda’s line-up of electric cars, the model is built on the latest MEB+ platform and offers small body size alongside with a generous interior and practicality.
The Skoda Epiq is the first model of the brand to incorporate the whole ‘Modern Solid’ design language of Skoda. Instead of the traditional grille, there is the gloss black Tech Deck Face at the front, with two slender T-shaped lights next to it, which is expected to be a characteristic feature of all future Skoda SUV models.

Aerodynamics was a key focus for Skoda while working on the Epiq, with the drag coefficient of the SUV amounting to 0.275. Active cooling shutters, aerodynamic wheels, roof spoilers, air curtains, and an optimised underbody have been used in the Epiq.
Concerning dimensions, the length of the Epiq is 4,171 mm, width – 1,798 mm, and height – 1,581 mm, and the wheelbase is 2,601 mm. In terms of wheels, the SUV has 17-inch to 19-inch alloy wheels according to the version. The trunk volume of the vehicle is 475 liters, and there is also a 25-liter front storage compartment.
Inside the vehicle, only recycled and animal-free materials were used, and the seat covers are made of 100% recycled polyester fibers. There is an opportunity to choose several different interior designs, ambient lighting, and Techtona leather alternative finish.
The list of equipment includes a 13-inch Android-based infotainment system with Google Maps, YouTube, and Spotify integration, wireless charging, panoramic sunroof, Canton sound system, connected car technology, and digital key technology.

Safety features of the Epiq include seven airbags as well as ADAS features like Front Assist, Lane Assist, Side Assist, Traffic Sign Recognition, and optionally, Travel Assist 3.0 with traffic light recognition and remote parking.
Epiq is available in two battery packs and three output levels. The first variant is called Epiq 35 (38.5kWh) that has 114bhp and 267Nm, whereas the other is Epiq 40 (38.5kWh) having 133bhp and 267Nm. They provide an estimated range of about 310km along with a maximum speed of 150kmph.
The Epiq 55 (55kWh) is equipped with a front electric motor providing 208bhp and 290Nm of torque. This variant provides an estimated range of about 440km and can be charged quickly from 10 to 80 per cent in around 24 minutes. The maximum speed of this variant is 160kmph. A significant point to note is that the vehicle is capable of operating in one-pedal mode, which means you can drive using only the accelerator pedal in B mode.
