Following the traditions of the GTIs, this engine powers front-wheel drive thanks to electronically controlled front difflocks and adaptive DCC sports suspension. It looks like Volkswagen is doing everything possible to preserve the emotions associated with GTI cars despite switching to electric engines in the upcoming new Polo GTI. The interior features typical tartan upholstery, red highlights, sporty seats, and retro-styled instruments inspired by the original Golf GTI.

Regarding the battery pack, the ID. Polo GTI comes equipped with a 52kWh NMC battery, which is capable of achieving an impressive WLTP driving range of up to 424km. The maximum DC charging rate stands at 105kW, providing an average charging time of 24 minutes from 10 to 80 percent of the battery capacity. Most importantly, the ID. Polo GTI reveals Volkswagen’s aspirations towards developing appealing small electric vehicles.
