  • 399cc Duke will continue to be on sale
  • New 350cc Duke is Rs. 62,000 more affordable
  • Power and torque output have gone down

The Indian arm of KTM has come up with a newer version of 350cc for their popular 390 Duke series in India. While the motorcycle has been tagged a price tag of Rs. 2.77 lakh, it has been made about Rs. 62,000 cheaper than the 399cc Duke, which still comes with an ‘R’ tag on it. The pricing difference arises owing to the fact that the former model falls under the 18 per cent GST segment as opposed to the latter being in the 28 per cent GST segment for having an engine of 350cc and less.

Engine displacement of the motorcycle has been cut down by cutting stroke length to 56.15mm against a length of 64mm while keeping bore constant at 89mm. With these specs, the new 350cc produces power of 40.9bhp and torque output of 33.5Nm, while the other model outputs 45.3bhp and 39Nm of torque. Coming to weight, the new motorcycle weighs 168kg as compared to the 168.3kg of the R version. Interestingly enough, saddle height has been reduced to 800mm as opposed to 820mm of the higher capacity model.

Whereas KTM has not changed the aesthetics and the body design of the new 390 Duke in any way, it has released the bike in new colors. Even though the colors remain the same as the 399cc model, there has been a change in their appearance. The rest of the bike retains the original design as it does before. The bike has 17-inch wheels mounted on WP suspension. Brakes consist of disc brakes at both ends fitted with a dual-channel ABS system.
