Beijing 2026 was chosen by MG for launching the revised MG4, revealing its future model MG4X with semi-solid batteries, and unveiling the MG07

The Morris Garages brand took advantage of the Beijing Auto Show 2026 event to showcase the latest innovations related to its electric car models by launching the 2026 MG4 version at the same time as announcing the imminent launch of the MG4X model worldwide and unveiling the MG07 flagship coupe. The 2026 MG4 is available in six versions with various changes.

The list of new exterior paint shades includes Ice Crystal Blue and Almond Beige, as well as black floating roof and 17-inch Starry aluminum alloy rims. The collaboration between MG and pop artist Jacky Tsai and Lu Xun Academy of Fine Arts provides customers with artistic personalization opportunities in order to turn the MG4 into a lifestyle product in that market.

New features in the car include improved front seats that come with seat heaters, seat ventilation, massage function, and seat memory. There is also an 8-inch driver monitor screen and a 15.6-inch 2.5K ultra-high-definition center touchscreen screen. Wireless CarPlay is enabled, as well as OPPO smart cockpit. Assistance systems for the driver have also been improved with additions like nose-in parking and DIY custom parking.

Technologically speaking, the MG4 maintains the use of cell-to-car integration, the integrated thermal management system, and a semi-solid battery. The car has been selling well over 10,000 units per month, and is always in the top three best-sellers of its segment with a total of more than 80,000 buyers around the world since its inception.

Introducing even more variants into the MG4 family, the upcoming launch of the MG4X takes place in May 2026. The base version of the MG4X features a semi-solid battery along with rear-wheel drive with a five-link independent rear suspension as标配, which is what MG plans to promote as a new benchmark of value among A-segment electric SUVs.

Another important unveiling from Beijing was that of the MG07. Positioned as the brand’s flagship in the coupes category, the MG07 will come as either a pure-electric car or a plug-in hybrid version. MG partnered with autonomous vehicle firm Momenta at the event, with the MG07 being one of the first cars to feature the Momenta R7 technology.

The Momenta R7 system features a world model based on reinforcement learning combined with the XHEART X7 large model chip for Navigate on Autopilot and end-to-end driving between parking spaces. Alongside the usual driver assist functions, the Momenta R7 system can predict hazards and conduct defensive driving techniques through physical scene perception and prediction reasoning.
