Rival of the Toyota Land Cruiser 300 by BYD almost seen at Intellectual Property India Office. This led to rumors of BYD India launch plans
Denza B8 is one of the most off-roading cars by the company’s huge brand lineup that initially rolled out in China as Fangchengbao Bao 8 in April 2024. BYD recently gained exclusive design rights of the car in India.
A few months ago, BYD applied for a design patent with IP India for its Fangchengbao Bao 8/Denza B8. This past month, BYD successfully received the design patent from IP India. Patent applications are part of normal practice to safeguard intellectual properties and do not mean anything about production plans locally.
It must be noted that the name Fangchengbao Bao 8 is reserved solely for China while the rest of the world markets the vehicle under the name Denza B8.
The Denza B8 is the plug-in hybrid SUV constructed using the conventional frame architecture. The SUV has dimensions of 5,195 mm in length, 1,994 mm in width, and 1,905 mm in height with the wheelbase measuring at 2,920 mm. The off-roading vehicle features an approach angle of 34º, departure angle of 35º, and ramp-over angle of 26º with ground clearance of 310 mm.
