BMW 7 Series 2026 Unveiled – Ultra-Luxury Sedan with 720+ Km Range

New features for the BMW 7 Series can be seen inside and outside the car, and it is anticipated to be available in India towards the end of this year or early next year.

The refreshed 7 Series from BMW has been unveiled internationally and is set to launch in India sometime during the latter half of this year or early next year (2027). First launched back in 1977, this flagship sedan has always been regarded as the technological innovator for BMW and the current seventh-generation model continues in its footsteps by implementing new features and technologies based on the Neue Klasse concept.

As the most premium model in the BMW stable, it essentially showcases the innovations that will be phased down through the range. In terms of styling, the new 7 Series comes with a more chiseled look featuring the illuminated kidney grille and crystal headlamps. Other notable styling aspects include the clean side profile and the cleanly finished rear end with new tail-light designs.

Consumers have the option of choosing the M Sport package and the M Sport Pro package, while the BMW personalization offerings comprise of two-tone paint finishes. In addition, the wheels offered vary from 20 inches to 22 inches. The interior comprises of premium materials like leather, wood, metal, and glass. As far as the features are concerned, the new BMW Panoramic iDrive comes with the Operating System X with a passenger display system added.

Rear seat passengers enjoy the enhanced ‘Theatre Screen’ which offers streaming up to 8K resolution along with the Bowers & Wilkins audio system with Dolby Atmos, four-zone climate control system, panoramic glass roof, ambient lighting, and Executive Lounge seats. In the engine bay, the 7 Series is offered with a wide array of drivetrains, including hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and full-electric engines.

Electrically-powered models, equipped with sixth-generation eDrive architecture with cylindrical batteries, now achieve a range above 720 kilometers under the WLTP cycle. Smart charging and energy management solutions include intelligent route planning, adaptive recuperation, and interaction with energy networks. The sedan features adaptive air suspension system on two axles out of the box.

Optional features like Integral Active Steering and advanced chassis control are complemented by artificial intelligence-backed driving aid technologies that fall under Symbiotic Drive technology that enables partially self-driving abilities and parking functions. Functions including self-driving on highways at a speed of up to 130 kmph and self-driving in cities guided by navigation aids can be done.

The new model of 7 Series will be manufactured at BMW’s production plant in Dingolfing, Germany, with the market roll out set to commence from July 2026 onwards. The current price of the 7 Series car in India is close to Rs. 1.83 crore (Ex-showroom) available in both 740d M Sport and 740i M Sport variants.
