- Brand’s first high-performance four-door GT
- Production-spec model to debut soon
The all-electric four-door GT that Jaguar plans to launch in the coming future has been named the Type 01. This vehicle will mark the start of a new era for the prestigious British car company and will be the first of its production cars based on the revolutionary Type 00 concept presented by Jaguar at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in 2022.

The naming policy incorporates both historical references and futuristic meanings. As per Jaguar, ‘Type’ refers to past vehicles such as the E-Type and F-Type, while ‘0’ stands for zero-emission propulsion. On the other hand, the ‘1’ denotes the fact that it is the first of Jaguar’s next-gen automobiles.
The Type 01 is likely to become Jaguar’s flagship vehicle in the future range of models and will come out as an ultra-high performance four-door GT. As reported in international media, the EV is likely to deliver more than 900 bhp power and nearly 1,300 Nm torque through a three-motor configuration.
As far as design goes, there should be quite a number of styling elements that will be carried over from the Type 00 concept to the production car. Among them, we will find a very long bonnet, a very low roofline, clean surfaces, and fastback body style. Jaguar’s new design language has been met with controversy, but Jaguar seems determined to reinvent itself as a luxury marque.
