Tata Motors Reveals the New Tiago Ahead of 28 May Price Announcement
  • To be offered in petrol and CNG powertrains
  • Will be launched alongside the updated Tiago EV

The new Tiago, manufactured by Tata Motors, has been unveiled ahead of its launch scheduled for the 28th of May when pricing details will be made available. The new Tiago has received a major face-lift in terms of both interior and exterior design elements and will also be rolled out along with the new Tiago EV.

The exterior changes that the car will sport are quite radical compared to the previous generation model. The exterior design borrows heavily from the Altroz model. The headlamp design is sleeker and comes with an all-LED look with DRLs embedded into them. The front fascia of the car has a black treatment and there are small fog lights present at its bottom. There is also a black roof, shark fin antenna, and ORVMs present in order to give the car a sporty appeal. New dual-tone alloy wheels have been introduced as well as the funky red color which again seems to have been taken from the Altroz model range.

Behind, too, the transformation seems thorough. While the treatment of the tail lamps tries to create an impression of connectivity, the lamps themselves aren’t actually connected; instead, the rear now comprises a blend of horizontal and vertical sporty lines giving the vehicle a more contemporary look. On the dimensional front, the Tiago will still remain less than four metres in length with a wheelbase close to 2,400 mm.

While we don’t have any information about the interior design yet, the presence of camera units at the ORVM and front bumper can give us a clue that the new Tiago will be getting a 360-degree camera system for the first time. The interior is also expected to be updated with new instrumentation and bigger screen sizes.

On the mechanical side of things, there seem to be no changes in sight. The new model will continue to be offered with the current 1.2-litre naturally-aspirated petrol engine with manual and automatic gearbox options.
