It has been confirmed by Tata Motors that the Sierra EV will launch in India in Q2 FY27. This will be tata’s sixth EV to launch in India and probably one of the most important ones, as it will mark tata’s second entry into the category of electric vehicles competing against the likes of Hyundai Creta Electric, Kia Carens Clavis EV, Maruti e Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser Ebella, and the Mahindra BE6.

There isn’t much detail about the Sierra EV as of now, but there is little doubt that it will have the same powertrain and features as the Curvv EV. This includes the 55kWh battery pack with a claimed range of around 500km. The engine is rated at 166bhp and 215Nm. The list of features includes Level 2 ADAS, connected cars, a powered and ventilated driver’s seat, LED lamp pack, dual climate control system, and a triple screen setup.

Sierra EV will be one of the important launches by Tata for this year in the field of electric vehicles. Its primary focus will be on the introduction of its premium range of Avinya, which will make its entry this year and see market launch in early 2027. The first automobile of the lineup will be a big SUV with a price tag in the range of Rs. 40 lakh to Rs. 50 lakh.
