The BMW F 450 GS would certainly have to be one of the most awaited launches of 2026, coming out tomorrow. It is a twin-cylinder motorcycle built by TVS Motor Company for BMW here in India.
As Indian Adventure Vehicle fans had long been yearning for, they will finally get a twin-cylinder adventure motorbike produced in their own country. They had wanted an affordable locally-produced motorcycle, which will certainly be achieved by the F 450 GS to a certain extent.
While bookings will open soon, the prices of the F 450 GS motorcycle would likely start from Rs. 4.80 lakh to 4.99 lakh. BMW plans to offer its F 450 GS motorcycle in four variants, namely the Basic, Exclusive, Sport, and GS Trophy. The ‘Trophy’ variant comes equipped with wire-spoke wheels along with an easy ride clutch system or ERC.

Considering the different varieties it offers, one can expect that its top-of-the-line version – the GS Trophy – could be quite expensive, possibly crossing Rs. 6.5 lakh mark on-road price-wise and even approaching the Rs. 7 lakh mark.
A question may arise whether BMW could make the same mistake that the company did when it released the G 310 R at a premium price and later had to reduce the price drastically, leading to increased sales. However, one needs to understand that the price of the BMW F 450 GS would be just right to pave way for other models based on the same platform.
BMW F 450 R and F 450 RR will most probably be released in the Indian market over the next two years and will come below the current BMW F 450 GS. For example, the F 450 R might cost Rs. 80,000 lower than the F 450 GS.
That being said, it appears there is tremendous hype for the baby GS. It remains to be seen whether the manufacturer goes for an exclusive price of the bike when it launches. Stay tuned!
