The Honda City facelift will receive some small cosmetic changes and add-ons, while the Honda ZR-V will make its way into the country as a complete imported model.
Two models, the facelifted City and the newly-launched ZR-V crossover, are set to launch together from Honda Cars India on May 22, 2026, which is next month. The City has not had much luck in the midsize sedan market, having steadily lost market share due to its inability to match up to the richly-equipped offerings from other brands, such as the Hyundai Verna, Volkswagen Virtus, and Skoda Slavia.
The differences have been particularly evident in terms of technology and features. The 2026 facelift edition attempts to address this issue and breathe some fresh life back into one of the oldest nameplates owned by Honda in India. The exterior changes are not too many, being limited to new headlights, taillights, bumpers, and wheels.
However, the interior seems to be in for quite a transformation, with the highlights including a bigger display screen with new software, a fully digital dashboard, ventilated seats at the front, a power-assisted driver’s seat, and a 360-degree camera that is available as an optional feature. Nevertheless, the engine variants remain the same.

The engines to continue include the 121 hp 1.5-litre i-VTEC petrol engine and the 126 hp hybrid variants, with the former coming mated with manual and CVT transmissions, while the latter uses a CVT transmission only. Alongside the City facelift, the all-new Honda ZR-V will also make its debut in the market after being unveiled by the automaker during a dealer meet as the hybrid variant in India some time back.
It will arrive as a fully assembled import and positioned as the marque’s SUV leader, competing with the Volkswagen Tiguan and Skoda Kodiaq in the segment. Speaking about dimensions, it stands tall at a length of 4,568 mm, width of 1,840 mm and height of 1,620 mm along with a wheelbase that stretches to 2,657 mm. While it is offered in North America as the third-generation Honda HR-V, it carries the name ZR-V in Japan, China, Europe, and elsewhere around the globe.
This model is a unique SUV created on the basis of the Civic car to bridge the gap between its larger cousins – HR-V on one side and CR-V on the other. This model possesses distinctive round shapes which separate it from the elevatethat looks more like a crossover car. The power unit used here is a 180 hp engine of 2.0 litres with four cylinders in tandem with an e-CVT transmission.
