New BYD Atto 3 Debuts with Flash Charging – 10% to 97% in Just 9 Minutes!

BYD’s globally acclaimed C-SUV, Atto 3, which has been completely revamped and remodeled for its second iteration; now featuring the latest second-gen Blade batteries from BYD.

Known as Yuan Plus in China, the Atto 3 has been a vital product in BYD’s international growth. After just under five years of its life cycle, the car has received a complete overhaul and reached its second-generation phase. While the all-new BYD Atto 3 may not offer a revolutionary design, it is considerably larger compared to its predecessor. With dimensions measuring 4,665 mm in length, 1,895 mm in width, and 1,675 mm in height, it is 210 mm longer, 20 mm wider, and 60 mm taller. Its wheelbase, standing at 2,770 mm, is 50 mm longer.

The introduction of a bolder and sleeker body style endows the all-new BYD Atto 3 with a more sophisticated aura. Its front fascia is more pronounced, and it comes equipped with more aggressive-looking headlights. Contrary to the former model, it also features a frunk, providing an extra 180 litres of cargo room.

Wheel arches painted in body colour on both sides and semi-recessed door handles result in a sleeker look for the car. The stretched yet short body makes the all-new Atto 3 appear more grounded to the road. In addition, the car’s design is enhanced by larger 19-inch alloy wheels. The car’s rear end appears more upright, along with straight lines and technical tail lights.

The interior is entirely new too, but similar to the previous model, curved designs are evident across the entire cabin. One of the most noticeable design aspects here is the two-spoke steering wheel with flat top and bottom sections. The 1.1m² panoramic roof, the ambient lighting system with 256 colours, and the 16 speaker audio system are just a few of the many highlights that can be found inside the Atto 3.

BYD has brought its all-new Atto 3 in two variants in the Chinese market with RWD. They include the model with a 200 kW (268 hp) motor and a 57.545 kWh LFP battery pack and one with a 240 kW (322 hp) motor and a 68.547 kWh LFP battery pack. According to the company, the all-new car will support flash charging. However, BYD has not disclosed the exact charging time yet. It has been offering the same technology in some of its models, and the fastest flash charging takes only 5 minutes to take the battery level to 10% to 70% and 9 minutes for 10% to 97%.

The existing Atto 3, which starts at Rs. 24.99 lakh (ex-showroom), in India will be around for some more time. There is no chance of bringing the all-new Atto 3 soon.
