MG IM6 Set for India Debut in August 2026 with Big Battery, Strong Performance, and Premium Features
The EV segment is all set to get even more exciting in India. MG is all set to launch the MG IM6, a sleek electric SUV coupe. The new EV will be a part of the more premium segment of the MG lineup. According to the latest information available, the new EV is expected to hit the market in August 2026. The bookings for the new EV may start in July 2026. The new EV will be available at MG Select dealerships and is expected to be available in India in CBU form.
What makes the new MG IM6 EV so exciting is that it is not just another EV with futuristic looks. The new EV is expected to be a more premium and sporty electric SUV coupe, designed for buyers looking for a luxury-like experience. Another interesting aspect is that according to a report from CarWale, India could see a single, fully-loaded variant of the new SUV, and this could mean that MG could be looking to launch a top-spec model.

In the global market, the MG IM6 comes with a 100kWh battery pack, which already makes it a high-performance long-range EV. The international variant comes with RWD as well as AWD variants. The RWD variant comes with 401bhp and 500Nm, along with a 625km range, while the more powerful variant comes with a massive 741bhp and 802Nm, but the range is compromised at 505km. In the Indian market, the exact variant to be launched has not been confirmed by the manufacturer, but it is expected to be a premium long-range
The design of the IM6 is expected to be one of its strongest suits, as the coupe-like design, sporty look, and premium feel of the SUV will give it a more premium look than a regular SUV. The design of the IM6 was also unveiled in India, and the expected colors of the SUV could be Arctic White, Black Pearl Metallic, Nevis Blue Metallic, and Rembrandt Grey Metallic. It has also been rumored that the interior of the Indian variant could come with a white interior theme.
Inside the car, the MG IM6 looks loaded with features. The expected features include dual screens, a three-spoke multifunction steering wheel, touch-type air-conditioning controls, heated and ventilated front seats, a panoramic sunroof, reclining rear seats, ADAS, four-wheel steering, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and wireless charging.
