Honda is gearing up to introduce several new hybrid models and electric vehicles in the country in the next 12 to 15 months. The company is expected to introduce new models, which include some locally developed models and a few imported ones, to give buyers a wider choice in the country’s growing electric vehicles segment.
Honda has already announced the launch of 10 new models in the next four years by 2030, which would be hybrid and electric vehicles. The global strategy to launch these models is also in place, which includes the Indian market, being one of the key markets for the Japanese automaker. Therefore, it is expected that in the next 12 to 15 months, new hybrid and electric cars from Honda would be launched in our country. Therefore, in this article, let’s discuss in detail the new Honda hybrid and electric cars to be launched in India in 2026-27.
1. Honda Prelude Hybrid
The Honda Prelude hybrid coupe is expected to be rolled out within the next 2 to 3 months. This will be imported to Indian shores via the CBU method. As per the recent media updates, the Japanese automaker is reportedly busy finalizing the E20 fuel compatibility and tyre specifications. The Honda Prelude will be available in limited units as it will be the first two-door coupe from the Japanese automaker.

The Honda Prelude hybrid comes with a 2.0L petrol engine in the global market. This engine produces the maximum power output of 197 bhp. This power would be transmitted to the front wheels via simulated gear shifts. This hybrid coupe would cost around Rs 80 lakh in India.

2. Honda ZR-V Hybrid
The ZR-V hybrid SUV would be the second new product that Honda would introduce to India as it goes on sale by the end of 2026. In other countries, the SUV would be placed below the CR-V as it is more of a crossover. The imported version would have a 2.0L petrol hybrid engine with 177 bhp of power delivered to all four wheels via an e-CVT gearbox.

Since it is going to be sold as a CBU, we can certainly expect a price in the range of Rs 50-55 lakh (ex-showroom). However, Honda would need to be very careful with its pricing to ensure a decent response from potential buyers. Nonetheless, since the prices are going to be in the range of Rs 50-55 lakh, it would be a premium product in the hybrid space, and demand would not be very high.
