Hyundai Ioniq 5 receives upgrades in its exterior and interior design, in addition to new features and battery size
Today, HMIL has officially introduced the latest iteration of its Ioniq 5 in India for Rs 55.70 lakh (ex-showroom) price point. With its enhanced battery capacity, refreshed styling inside and out, connected car services, and enhanced safety features, this updated model aims to achieve high-volume sales in its home turf.
The most significant upgrade on the latest Ioniq 5 includes a transition from the current 72.6 kWh battery pack to the 84.0 kWh pack that now promises a certified ARAI range of up to 690 kilometers between two charging cycles. This enhancement should certainly alleviate range anxiety among customers during long-distance travel.
Visually, the exterior keeps the characteristic Parametric Pixel style but gets an upgrade of front and back bumpers, a new skid plate on the front and back end, an updated alloy wheels package, a new rear spoiler, and a redesigned V-garnish lighting unit located at the rear. In the interior, the car now comes with an updated 3-spoke leather steering wheel fitted with a pixel 4 dot design and heating ability.

The facia panel at the center has been revamped, while there is also an upgrade to the wireless smartphone charger along with controls for heating and ventilating the seats. These are mechanical control systems for commonly used features, which have been made easier by eliminating the necessity to search through the menu to perform simple tasks. The instrument cluster display and infotainment screen with two 12.3-inch displays remain the same as before.
Talking about technological improvements, the latest version of Ioniq 5 comes with a Connected Car Navigation Cockpit and Controller Over-the-Air updates. Android Auto and Apple CarPlay work wirelessly and Active Sound Design has been included. The new payment feature lets users make payments for EV charging through the infotainment screen without the help of any mobile application or debit/credit card.

The Hyundai Bluelink system for connected cars now comes with a remote immobilization feature for better protection against theft. In terms of safety, the new model will come equipped with Rear Parking Collision-Avoidance Assist and Rear Side Parking Distance Warning, which will join the list of other safety assistive technologies. Four colors have been selected for the exterior paint job of the new Ioniq 5 model: Gravity Gold Matte, Midnight Black Pearl, Titan Gray, and Optic White, along with the Obsidian Black interior.
