2026 Hyundai Verna Arrives in India with Fresh Features, Turbo Power and Premium Safety Updates
Hyundai has launched the 2026 Verna in India, and the updated sedan comes with a better list of features, styling, and premium feel compared to the previous model. The new Verna, priced from Rs. 10.98 lakh (ex-showroom), seems to be targeted at customers who are looking for a stylish and feature-packed sedan in a world where SUVs rule. Although this update may not be a total overhaul of the Verna, it does bring a number of improvements to keep the sedan fresh and competitive in the segment.
The first thing that any customer will notice about the car is the new and better exterior design. Hyundai has made the Verna look more modern with features such as a black chrome radiator grille, dual LED projector lamps for the headlights, and new front and rear bumpers. The sedan also sports new 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels that make it look sporty. Hyundai has always been promoting the Verna as one of the most stylish mid-size sedans in the country.

Inside the cabin, Hyundai has focused a lot on comfort and technology. The new 2026 Verna features a premium interior that features a new D-cut steering wheel, leatherette seat upholstery, and electric adjustable seats. Some of the convenience features that are available in the new Verna are a rear window sunshade, smart trunk, driver seat memory, passenger seat walk-in, and so on. It seems that Hyundai wants to give a premium feel to the Verna without compromising on the pricing.
The technology pack is another strong point. Hyundai has incorporated a dual 10.25-inch screen setup in the Verna. This includes the infotainment system and instrument cluster. Other key features include wireless android auto and apple carplay, wireless charging of phones, ventilated front seats, an electric sunroof, and an 8-speaker Bose sound system. These features are expected to make the car relevant in the market among younger consumers.
Under the hood, Hyundai is providing buyers with two petrol engine options. The first is a naturally aspirated 1.5-litre petrol unit, while the other is a 1.5-litre turbo petrol unit. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual, IVT, and 7-speed DCT. The turbo petrol unit churns out 158 bhp and 253 Nm of peak torque, making it one of the more powerful performance-oriented options in its class. Hyundai has carried forward the sporty vibe of the Verna, especially for buyers seeking a more exciting driving experience in a sedan.

Another major highlight of the 2026 Verna is safety. The car now comes with more than 75 safety features, which include Level 2 ADAS, 7 airbags, dashcam, surround view monitor, blind spot view monitor, among others. With all these features, the new Verna is even more likely to be at the top of the list of feature-rich sedans in India. Therefore, with all these updates, the Verna is even more complete for buyers who still wish to own a premium sedan.
