The Chinese automaker Rox Motor has filed a patent for its large luxury SUV, named Rox Adamas. It has already started to gain attention for its bold styling, powerful hybrid powerplant, and off-road capabilities. Although filing a patent for an SUV does not guarantee its launch in a market, it does suggest that the company is considering entering that market.
On paper, the Rox Adamas appears to be a full-sized adventure SUV. Its boxy shape and upright posture with a rear-mounted spare tire suggest a bold and adventurous spirit. It is over 5.3 meters long and therefore an extremely large vehicle by SUV standards. It will be available with both 6 and 7-seat options and therefore suitable for luxury family use.

What makes the Rox Adamas even more interesting, however, is that it features a plug-in hybrid powertrain, which uses a 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine, an electric drivetrain, and a 56.01kWh battery pack. The vehicle produces 469 bhp and 740 Nm of torque, which are then sent out through a full-time 4WD system. Despite the size and weight of the vehicle, it can still achieve 0-100 km/h in just 5.5 seconds, which is quite impressive for a vehicle of this size.
Things get even more impressive in terms of range, as the vehicle, according to the information made available, can achieve a combined WLTC range of 1,226 km, with the electric vehicle range standing at 235 km.

Off-road capability is another significant highlight of the SUV. The SUV comes with air suspension, adjustable ride height, clearance of up to 324mm, a water-wading depth of up to 770mm, and the capacity to climb a slope of up to 45 degrees. This means that the Adamas is not just about luxury looks; it also has off-road capability.
In terms of interior, the Rox Adamas has put significant emphasis on comfort and luxury features. It comes with powered seats, heating, ventilation, massage functions, triple-zone climate control, ambient lighting, microfiber suede, and a luggage area. It has the potential to attract buyers looking for a premium version of established large SUVs if it ever launches in the country. Again, this is purely speculative, as this is just a patent filing and not a launch announcement for the Indian market. CarWale also points out that the price of the SUV, if launched in another market, would be AED 2,32,000, which translates to ₹59 lakhs
